Review
I'm so thankful that Danielle messaged me asking to review her book, as someone who judges books by the cover and the title. This is defiantly a book I wouldn't pick for myself to read but I loved it!

At first, I was getting confused with all the characters and who was who and how they was linked up together, but it soon made sense.

I loved the way you read from three different POV's and how they all piece together. The ending had such good plot twists that even I couldn't guess! It was the kind of book you don't want to put down until you find out who the dead women is and how the story is all linked back to 10 years ago! The final storyline that took place in the forest during the snow and was such a climax!

I also enjoyed reading Lily's flashbacks which helped build the story with memories from the night of the accident where her memory completely wiped of the night of the accident/ the woman get killed. And also some memories from when she was kidnapped and held hostage

This book is great if you love books by Cara Hunter or TV shows like Broadchurch.

Carrying her Millionaire's Baby by Sophie Pembroke

Has this runaway bride…finally founded a groom worth staying for? If Zoey Hepburn has to be stranded on a tropical island after escaping her wedding, who better to keep her company than her best friend, tycoon Ash Carmichael? Widower Ash understands better than anyone the risk to your heart when making marriage vows. But when a passionate night alone changes their relationship forever, will they be able to face the consequences nine months later?”

I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get my hands on this e-book a few months before it came out (Thanks Sophie!) but I only read it this weekend to distract myself from my day to day life (personal problems) but that in a way helped me read this e-book in two days and I don’t normally read this kind of genre. Anyway let me tell you about my thoughts of this story! The story of Zoey and Ash got me hooked instantly, how Ash had his one true love/found in his soulmate in Grace (Zoey’s best friend) and how on the other hand, Zoey keeps escaping from all of her weddings before the dreaded part of commiment! But when the wedding Ash helps Zoey escape from turns into a party of two on remote island, with only each other to have as heating and a bottle of whisky. Things soon start to get personal and then the next morning the wake up, together in bed. Fast forward a few weeks and Zoey finds out she is pregenant with Ash’s baby. They wonder if this will change their close friendship to lovers and what will be best for the future baby.

The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary

Tiffy Moore needs a cheap flat, and fast. Leon Twomey works nights and needs cash. Their friends think they’re crazy, but it’s the perfect solution: Leon occupies the one-bed flat while Tiffy’s at work in the day, and she has the run of the place the rest of the time. But with obsessive ex-boyfriends, demanding clients at work, wrongly imprisoned brothers and, of course, the fact that they still haven’t met yet, they’re about to discover that if you want the perfect home you need to throw the rulebook out the window…”

I was luckly enough to read this before it came out thanks to Netgalley!
I’ve been devouring this book for the past week, slowly feeling like I’m in the flat alongside Tiffy and Leon and their day to day lives.
Tiffy needs to move out of her ex-boyfriends flat and start afresh. But hasn’t got the money to rent/ buy her own flat, or even enough money to even rent a room in a flat/house. So she does the one thing she can afford, share a bed with a stranger. Leon decides to to share the bed/flat to bring in some extra income to help with his brother (Richie) trial as he is in prison for a crime he did not commit. So all money comes in handy for Leon and its great for both people as Tiffy has it at nightime and Leon has it during the day. It works out great for many months, until one day they meet and not in a suitable manner. But now there is feelings, thoughts and emotions rising and will either one of them, or both of them act on it or just keep living as flatmates.
The e-book  and audiobook is out today, and the book in hardback next Thursday!

Don't Go Baking my Heart by Cressida McLaughlin

Baking fanatic, Charlie Quilter, is surprised when her late uncle bequeaths his vintage bus to her in his will. Charlie thinks it will be the perfect mobile café for afternoon tea, and when her friend, Juliette, suggests Charlie comes to stay with her in the picturesque Cornish village of Porthgolow, she’s thrilled at the chance of a new start. Charlie and her cute dog, Marmite, make new friends wherever their bus stops – except for the attractive but reclusive owner of the posh spa up on the hill, Daniel Harper, who isn’t very pleased that her bus is parked outside his lovely hotel.

Has Charlie’s Cornish dream developed a soggy bottom? Or can she convince Daniel that her bus could be the start of something wonderful for the little village – and for them?”
As soon as I started reading this, I loved it and felt like Charlie was my best friend and now I’m jealous and I’m now wanting a dog like Marmite! I also wish I had a bus and a baking skill to go together.
Now, onto my main review. So, I got to read this book via net galley three weeks in advance! When I started reading this, my first thought was I wished I had a double decker bus as I would have some great business ideas for it. Anyway, lets return back to Charlie who is grieiving for her uncle, trying to do the bus up and work too many shifts at her local cafe. Charlie then realsies she can combine all three things. Turn her uncles bus (which he used to do tour guides on) into a cafe on the bus and could even drive customers around whilst having afternoon teas! (sounds like my idea of heaven). After a few mishaps at home, Charlie finally gets persaded by Juliette to go stay with her for a few weeks in lovely Cornwall.
But, whats life without a little bit of drama. When Charlie arrives in Porthglow she is not welcomed with open arms. espically by Daniel who just happenes to be the owner of the luxury hotel where Charlie has parked up Gertie whilst she staying in the village. As soon as they met, they’re sure they can be the better one at getting tourists and Daniel is sure people want healthy and luxury food whereas Charlie says stodgy home comfort is the best. (Which one do you agree with btw, I’m with Charlie on this one!) I’m sure later down the line, there will be a romance brewing up between Charlie and Daniel. Who else agrees? And I hope both of the businesses are a success.
I can’t wait for the second part in the series: The Eclair Affair. However for a now. Preorder the first one on amazon, it comes out the 13th June! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07HVJB48Y?pf_rd_p=330fbd82-d4fe-42e5-9c16-d4b886747c64&pf_rd_r=X5HQESSQQQR8YYGEYAMR

Dopey Women by Laura Barnard

Sadie had a bumpy upbringing but she’s still managed to drag herself out and carve a career for herself. That all comes crashing down when she, along with the women she manages; Mags, Lexi & Steph, get made redundant. She’s screwed. In hindsight she shouldn’t have attacked her colleague in a moment of rage. There goes the reference. When they all bump into each other a few months later at the job centre Sadie finds she’s not the only one in a hole. Steph’s boyfriend has left her holding the baby, Lexi’s stuck in an abusive relationship and poor Mags has breast cancer. They’re all struggling to keep on top of their bills. They all need money to get out of their situations, its as simple as that.
Mags mentions that some women find marijuana helps ease the sickness caused by chemo. With the desperation mounting and the coffee spurring them on they somehow decide to start growing it. They’re only going to sell to ladies going through chemo, so its not too bad, right? They’re not going to be proper drug dealers. And its only temporary.
They didn’t bet on the business taking off so well though. Before they know it they’ve got orders coming out of their ears, a sexy detective on their trail, suspicious neighbours and drug dealers angry they’re working on their patch.
Can Sadie pull them out of this dangerous world they’ve found themselves in? And can she do it before they end up in prison?”

The beginning chapter of this book had me hooked from the start, when Sadie finds out shes not getting the pay rise she was hoping for, instead she’s being made redudant and so are her 3 employees she manages. She goes from calm to angry espically as she goes back into the meeting room where she got delivered the news to find the two people who sacked her, sitting on the desk ina rather passionate postion.
They all meet up unexpectedly  in their local job centre and go for a coffee they can’t evern afford (thank god for credit cards!) and revealed they all have something personal going on with their lives.  Mag’s husband had died and then a week later got diagonised with breast cancer, Lexi’s boyfriend is usig her as a personal punching bag and Steph’s waiter boyfriend from Cyprus has left her with her baby.So the foursome decide to set up their own business selling special brownies to clients who don’t know how to find a drug dealer and people Mag knows from being on the chemo ward! They’re the undodgy drug dealers!
However, fast forward a few months and the girls have torn off more than they can chew. Mag’s is getting poorly, a drug dealer is after them for taking their customers, said drug dealer slept with lexi after the other 3 ran away, handsome detective finally sleeps with Sadie. But after Sadie finds out Harry was only using her as a leg up to the next promotion/ bigger wage packet.
 Personal Review
◦ Loved it from the start. The whole story kept me engaged and I was never fully sure what was going to happen next
Characters were wrote lovely and I could picture them so easily which helped the story
◦ The bits where the girls are having threats and coming face to face with the other drug dealers was so funny and I couldn’t help but laugh in public
Go buy/download this book now if you want a book to laugh the whole way through!

A Walk in Wildflower Park by Bella Osbourne

Anna thought she’d found The One – until he broke off their engagement exactly a year before their wedding day. Hoping new surroundings will do her the world of good, she moves in to a place of her own on the edge of gorgeous Wildflower Park.
With the help and friendship of her neighbour Sophie (a stressed-out mum whose children a regular source of newly-invented swear words and unidentifiable sticky surfaces), Anna quickly settles in and pledges to focus on her career, but a handsome new colleague seems determined to thwart her attempts at every turn. And when she receives a text from a mystery man, it looks as though an unlikely romance is on the horizon… Is Anna about to be swept off her feet by someone she really shouldn’t be falling for? Or could this be the new start she needs and deserves?
With a year until the big day. Liam decides to call it quits on their engagement and their future wedding leaving Anna to find somewhere to live. Which lucky for her, she stumbled upon a home in Wildflower park (does anyone else love it when the title of the book is included somewhere in the story?)
Wildflower park is a private park for the residents surrounding it (literally have to use a access card to gain entry!) Also, Anna’s friend and co-worker Sophie happens to live in the same area and can always go there for a gossip and moan. It’s mainly Sophie doing the moaning as she has two children with one on the way, a husband who does nothing to help out and she is fed up.
Anna’s life seems to be on the up, but when Hudson, her new colleague joins (who is catching the attention of the women in the office) starts to undermine her and her suggestions/ideas, she soon feels like she is going to get anywhere fast.
Also, she’s been receiving mysterious texts from someone nicknamed ‘C’. They started out as the wrong number, but now they’re more friendly and could this become a new relationship? I know it’s a happy book, but with the texts from ‘C’ I’m getting Pretty Little Liars vibes (I’m literally watching it whilst typing this review!)
Fast forward to the team building weekend, Anna has even more reason to be annoyed as the person who has been brought into the manage the team for the weekend and the next three months (something to make them work better and sort out weaknesses) is no other than Liam, Yep the ex-fiancee. This chapter also had my favourite quote of the book and even of the year of reading so far: “I’m no cactus expert, but I recognise a prick when I see one”
After one wrong question one night on the weekend away, Liam then decides Anna and Hudson are dating, so the pair of them decide to fake date.
Will the relationship always be fake, or will something happen between the two of them? Read it yourself to find out!
Pre-order it today:
It comes out as an e-book and paperback on the 27th June, pre-order it on amazon, the link is attached below:

Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did, I’m now off to find a house that’s got a Wildflower park nearby!

The Holiday by T.M Logan

It was supposed to be the perfect holiday, dreamed up by Kate as the ideal way to turn 40: four best friends and their husbands and children in a luxurious villa under the blazing sunshine of  Languedoc-Roussillon. But there is trouble in paradise. Kate suspects that her husband is having an affair, and that the other woman is one of her best friends. As Kate closes in on the truth in the stifling Mediterranean heat, she realises too late that the stakes are far higher than she ever imagined. Because someone in the villa is prepared to kill to keep their secret hidden
I was hooked onto this book as soon as I read the first page (cliche I know!) but with the description of a body found bleeding and many open wounds without saying who it was, I spent the whole time reading the book waiting to find out who died or will there be more than one?
When Kate finds her husband phone hidden away in a bedside cabinet, with message notification come pinging in, she decides to read the messages and regrets it as she finds her husband Sean is having an affair, and to make it even worse it’s with one of her best friends who is in the same villa? So naturally she starts to wonder who could be playing away with her husband?
Is it Jennifer, Sean first love at uni who was his best ever apparently, which upset Kate at the time but now she’s thinking could they have rekindle their amazing/first love romance?
Or is it Izzy, who both came from the same area, went to the same high school and briefly dated for a while but never spoke of it since.
Could it be Rowan, who arranged for everyone to stay at the villa in order to show off to Daniel to show what his life could be like, especially after Rowan’s husband declares to Kate he thinks his wife is having an affair. Could it be with Kate’s husband?
Over the week, more and more bad things happen to the families (mainly the children). With little Daniel trying to prove to Jennifer’s two teenage boys he can be part of the gang by doing some things he knows his mother wouldn’t approve of, Lucy seems to be hiding a big secret about something that happened at a party, I wonder what it could be? The adults also seem to be brushing each other the wrong way.
And the night where Izzy decides to Kate what she knows (is she about to confess?) there is a terrible accident, costing someones life and suspicions rise. Was it an accident or a deliberate murder. Also will Kate find out who her husband is having an affair with?
My thoughts on this book: I loved how each character is written and how they all have their own secrets they’re not sharing with anyone. This book got me thinking the whole time who could be having the affair and what happened to Lucy.
I will be reccomdending this book to everyone and to all you people who will be reading this blog. Go buy it now! It is released next Thursday in paperback and E-book form: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Holiday-T-M-Logan-ebook/dp/B07H3VFNLX/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3ICQ8O896RIWC&keywords=the+holiday+tm+logan&qid=1563394585&s=gateway&sprefix=the+holiday+t%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-1

You Make Me Feel Like Glamping by Daisy Tate

Is friendship meant to last forever? Charlotte Mayfield hopes so. Especially as she’s throwing some luxury glamping into the mix. After fifteen years of trying to be the perfect wife, maybe Charlotte’s best friends from uni – Freya, Emily and Izzy – can still glimpse the woman she’d once set out to be.
Freya is up for it. Could a powwow with her yesteryear besties helps her knock some sense into her useless husband?
Emily’s hiding her own crisis from her parents, colleagues and now, her mates. Can a weekend under canvas get her to open up?
Izzy’s back from a decade abroad with an unexpected addition, her nine-year-old daughter Flora. She’s also keeping another big secret, one that’s brought her home for good.
Will a year of yurts mend two decades of hurts – or are some things, like shower blocks, burnt sausages and no wi-fi, best left in the past…
I loved reading the first part of the series and I felty like I was clamping alongside the girls. All the girls have secrets they have gained since leaving university.
This first part of the series is all about Charlotte and celebrating her being 40. Her husband Oli is making her throw a big birthday bash and inviting all his fiends and family, but much to Oli’s disgust, charlotte is inviting her three friends who know her better than anybody.
Many things happen over this weekend: secret child, an unfaithful husband and an eventful party which ends up with someone covered in cake!

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons

When 16-year-old poetry blogger Tessa Dickinson is involved in a car accident and loses her eyesight for 100 days, she feels like her whole world has been turned upside-down.
Terrified that her vision might never return, Tessa feels like she has nothing left to be happy about. But when her grandparents place an ad in the local newspaper looking for a typist to help Tessa continue writing and blogging, an unlikely answer knocks at their door: Weston Ludovico, a boy her age with bright eyes, an optimistic smile…and no legs.
Knowing how angry and afraid Tessa is feeling, Weston thinks he can help her. But he has one condition — no one can tell Tessa about his disability. And because she can’t see him, she treats him with contempt: screaming at him to get out of her house and never come back. But for Weston, it’s the most amazing feeling: to be treated like a normal person, not just a sob story. So he comes back. Again and again and again.
Tessa spurns Weston’s “obnoxious optimism”, convinced that he has no idea what she’s going through. But Weston knows exactly how she feels and reaches into her darkness to show her that there is more than one way to experience the world. As Tessa grows closer to Weston, she finds it harder and harder to imagine life without him — and Weston can’t imagine life without her. But he still hasn’t told her the truth, and when Tessa’s sight returns he’ll have to make the hardest decision of his life: vanish from Tessa’s world…or overcome his fear of being seen.
At first I couldn’t get into this book, I’m not sure if it was because of Tessa, the confusion plot line, or the fact that her vision may never return. I don’t think it helped I was also watching a movie on the same day where the main character was called Tessa! Anyway, back to what I thought of it.
Whilst reading it, I felt vibes like other sad YA medical problem books: The Fault in our Stars and Five Feet Apart (only two I’ve read, I’m sure there is others!) and I must say I prefer 100 days of sunlight to TFIOS. Reading how Tessa felt and all of her poems she uploads has made me want to go read/write poetry!. I also loved reading Weston’s past story and how he also got his injury and can he ever accept it?
If you love a YA book, two poorly teenagers trying not to fall in love, and from hating each to becoming friends. This is the book for you!

Silent Night by Geraldin Hogan

‘She reached into the pram and placed her hands on the cotton blanket. It was still warm. But her smiling, new baby sister, with her wide blue-grey eyes, was gone…’ Twenty five years later, three bodies are found at a ramshackle cottage in the Irish countryside, and Detective Iris Locke is sick to her stomach. The victims are Anna Crowe and her two young children. Iris has only recently joined the Limerick Murder Squad. Against her father’s advice, she’s working the narrow lanes and green hills of her childhood. Iris still remembers Anna, who was just a small girl when her baby sister was snatched, never to be seen again. It was the one case Iris’ own father never solved, and Iris can’t help but wonder if the two crimes are connected. She’ll stop at nothing to find Anna justice, but a fire has destroyed almost all the physical evidence, and Limerick is the same small town she remembers: everybody protects their neighbours, and Iris has been away for too long. Can Iris unpick the lies beneath the surface of her pretty hometown, and catch the most twisted individual of her career, when reopening the old case means reopening old wounds for her team, the rest of the community, and her own father?

Firstly, I’d like to thank Geraldine and Kim Nash for letting me have the chance to review this book and be part of the book-tour, especially as today is the first day of the tour and publication day – double celebration! So without further ado, here is my review and thoughts on Silent Night!
The little storyline in the first chapter with Anna and her new baby sister, made me love it already even though I felt something bad was going to happen in the future – both very soon and a few years down the line (I do love a bit of foreboding).
I then enjoyed the introduction of Iris, who has been desperate to join a murder squad after working on a undercover case!
Reading about how Iris work at the same place and even the same department as her Dad, is difficult espically as he has such a good reputation at solving every case expect one (I have a personally theory about that, I wonder if I’m right?) . Everyone else think the same question, even Iris – will she be as good as her dad or a complete failure? Read the book to find out for yourselves, and read all about the other characters who have things going on in their lives!
Before you go, here a quick little brief about the author:

The Day we Meet Again by Miranda Dickinson

We’ll meet again at St Pancras station, a year from today. If we’re meant to be together, we’ll both be there. If we’re not, it was never meant to be . . .’ Phoebe and Sam meet by chance at St Pancras station. Heading in opposite directions, both seeking their own adventures, meeting the love of their lives wasn’t part of the plan. So they make a promise: to meet again in the same place in twelve months’ time if they still want to be together.
But is life ever as simple as that?
This is a story of what-ifs and maybes – and how one decision can change your life forever…
Thank you to Netgalley, for letting me to read and review this book. So buckle up and read my review and then you can decide if you want to go out and buy it.
The story between Phoebe and Sam starts at St Pancras station, when they accidentally bump into each other, and found out love at first sight does actually exist, but they both have to leave for a year! Sam is going to Scotland to find information about his father and find out where he lives/or if he is still alive .
Phoebe is going travelling to Paris and Italy to help find herself and gain confidence. When the 12 months are up, will Phoebe and Sam arrive back into St Pancras, and meet up? Or will someone end up with heartbreak?
It took me a while to get into this book, as I was only interested in Phoebe’s travels (sorry Sam!), however I still got annoyed how attached they got to each other even thought they have only met once!.
The Last 40% of the book, I got really into and was racing to see what happened at the ending, and I wasn’t disappointed. I would really recommend reading/going to buy the book so attached is the link to buy it on Amazon:

Living my Best Life by Claire Frost

Recently dumped by her boyfriend of ten years, Bell is struggling to move on with her life – and surrender the fleecy pyjamas she’s been living in since January. Haunted by #blessed on social media, she can’t help but compare her life to those she follows online, wondering where she is going wrong . . .
In the world of social media, Millie is the successful online influencer @mi_bestlife. But in real life she’s just a regular single mum trying to make ends meet, while fending off the younger competition and tenacious internet trolls. Her Instagram feed is far more #BestLie than #BestLife, and soon Millie begins to wish her life was more like her filters.
It isn’t until Bell and Millie’s paths cross that they begin to realise what they’re both missing. Can Millie prove to Bell that life online isn’t always what it appears to be? And in return, can Millie learn that she needs to start living for the moment and not for the likes?
Thanks to netgalley I got to read this e-book before paperback publication date (5th September) in return for my review of thoughts about this book so carry on reading if you’re interested 😂
You never know when a much needed friendship is going to happen, Mille and Bell certainly didn’t. Both looking for something to do with their time but managed to start a way to save the thing that brought them together – the local community centre
Bell, recently dumped by her boyfriend of 10 years, is now looking for ways to meet new friends/ build on old and create new skills. So she decided to sign up to the photography course. Not only does she gain new friends, but is there a potential love interest brewing up?
Millie has the perfect life, well on Instagram she has. It’s amazing what a bit of photoshopping and editing can do. Her #ootd gets purchased and returned back to the store on the same day, and the clean house pictures you see aren’t showing the pushed away mess and hiding things that aren’t perfect. Determined to not be belittled by famous ex (also dad of her son) she goes out to take Wolfie to more fun activities as the community centre rather than being cooped indoors.
Which is how Millie and Bell meet. Who needs oodles of followers when you can have real friendship which doesn’t need any filters!
I honestly loved every second of this book, and it’s extremely relatable right now with all the Instagram influencers out there. Below is the link to buy it in paperback and on amazon!
About the author: Claire Frost grew up in Manchester, the middle of three sisters. She always wanted to do a job that involved writing, so after studying Classics at Bristol University she started working in magazines. For the last 10 years she’s been at The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine, where she is Assistant Editor and also responsible for the title’s book reviews. She can mostly be found at her desk buried under a teetering TBR pile.

The Stranger Inside by Lisa Unger

You committed the perfect crime. But someone knows the truth.
You followed the trial obsessively.
You know he’s guilty and can’t believe he got away with it.
But someone is determined to see justice done.

Rain Winter left journalism behind to focus on her baby daughter. But when a man acquitted for murder is killed, in the same way as his suspected victims, Rain sees a pattern emerging between a series of cold cases.
Meticulous and untraceable, this killer strikes in the dead of night, making sure that the guilty are suitably punished for their crimes.
As Rain’s investigation deepens, she must face up to dark secrets in her own past and the realisation that the killer may be closer than she thinks…
Thank you to Harper Collins for letting me join in on the blog tour and introducing me to Lisa Unger (Can you believe I’ve never read a book by her!). Right now onto the reason why you’re reading this, to see what I thought of the book.
I’ve only read 40% of this book, so luckily there won’t be any spoilers on this review as Im only a little way into the book. I loved how the chapters were from Rain’s and Hank present time and then there were the flashbacks to what happened to them two and Tess when they was younger. (I’m not sure if its a spoiler if I tell you what happened?)
As Rain has a career in journalism, she has made notes over the years about murderers who have been murdered the same way the victims had done. She is now deciding to try and join all the dots up and see if the killer is related to a very personal case to her and set up a story/podcast with her past and present findings. This is all whilst she is meant to be on maternity leave looking after her daughter, but she has found a scratch that keeps needing to be itched.
So far, I’m kind of scared of Hank’s chapters. I know, how can I be scared of a book, but I read late at night in bed so I will be thinking the book whilst trying to sleep! Anyway back to Hank, I personally feel like he hasn’t fully forgiven Rain about what happened back when they was kids and seems to be he has now gone to stalk her or possibly even the serial killer? Maybe I’m going to be right in later chapters, or quite often wrong when judging peoples characters.
Hank is also a therapist dealing with young adults with past trauma, as he knows what it is like and could easily gain information to sort out the guilty who walked free?
As I have said above, I haven’t fully finished this book but I am loving every chapter and is the kind of book I can’t predict the ending and what could and what couldn’t happen. I suggest to everyone reading this review to go and buy it right now, and lucky for you today is the release day so go treat yourself! Im attaching the link below to Amazon so you can either buy it as a paperback or send straight to your kindle! The Perfect Widow by A.M Castle

Louise Bridges has the perfect life.
A loving husband, Patrick. Two adorable children. A comfortable home. So when PC Becca Holt arrives to break the news that Patrick has been killed in an accident, she thinks Louise’s perfect world is about to collapse around her.
But Louise doesn’t react in the way Becca would expect her to on hearing of her husband’s death. And there are only three plates set out for dinner, as if Louise already knew Patrick wouldn’t be home that night… The more Becca digs, the more secrets she uncovers in the Bridges’ marriage – and the more she wonders just how far Louise would go to get what she wants… Is Louise a loving wife – or a cold-hearted killer?
I would like to say a quick thanks to Jess at Blogger HQ/ Harper Collins for inviting me onto the blog tour! Now onto my thoughts of this ebook.
Personally. If I didn’t have to review this book I think I’d have to DNF. At 70% into this book I thought it would be too late for for a dramatic twist and I’m still waiting for the tension to rise! At 85% the twist arrived and it wasn’t that great in my personal opinion. I felt it was poorly written and was suddenly thought of
I personally couldn’t get to grips on the character Louise, and couldn’t feel any connection to her. She spent years trying to get attention from Patrick and then after a whirlwind romance and popped a few kids out, he’s back to his old tricks. Flirting and having a few women on the side.
All in all, This wasn’t a favourite of mine, but some people may enjoy it! I’m going to rate this as a three and possible won’t be buying/reading again anything by this author, but if anyone does want to read it, here’s the link: Amazon

We Met in December by Sarah Morgan

In the snowy perfection of Aspen, the White family gathers for youngest daughter Rosie’s whirlwind Christmas wedding.
First to arrive are the bride’s parents, Maggie and Nick. Their daughter’s marriage is a milestone they are determined to celebrate wholeheartedly, but they are hiding a huge secret about their own: they are on the brink of divorce. After living apart for the last six months, the last thing they need is to be trapped together in an irresistibly romantic winter wonderland.
Rosie’s older sister Katie is also dreading the wedding. Worried that impulsive, sweet-hearted Rosie is making a mistake, Katie is determined to save her sister from herself. If only the irritatingly good-looking best man, Jordan, would stop interfering with her plans…Bride-to-be Rosie loves her fiance but is having serious second thoughts. Except everyone has arrived – how can she tell them she’s not sure? As the big day gets closer, and emotions run even higher, this is one White family Christmas none of them will ever forget.
Thank you to HQ Stories for gifting me a proof copy back in October, (I wanted to wait for the festive month to read it!) and to Sarah Morgan for writing such a great book and
I loved this book, from finding out what happened to Katie on one of her night shifts in the hospital, Maggie and Nick pretending their marriage is fine when really they’ve been living in separate houses since Rosie left to go to America.
What the White family need is a Christmas miracle, and what better place to go search for one in snowy Aspen (ps, I now want to go!).
I could write so much on how I loved how Maggie and Nick, Katie and Rosie and how they managed to fix their troubles but I wouldn’t want to give away as I’m sure I’d spoil the whole book! So I’m just going to say buy the book now and here is the link to buy it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wedding-December-Sarah-Morgan/dp/1848457936/ref=sr_1_1?crid=JK9H4690THC6&keywords=a+wedding+in+december+sarah+morgan&qid=1577225324&sprefix=A+wedding%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-1
I can’t wait to read The Christmas Sisters and How to Keep a Secret next year!

We Met in December by Rosie Curtis

What if you couldn’t get away from the one who got away?
This December, unlucky-in-love Jess is following her dream and moving to Notting Hill. On the first night in her new house-share she meets Alex, the guy in the room next door. They don’t kiss under the mistletoe, but there’s still a spark that leaves Jess imagining how they might spend the year together – never mind the house rule against dating…
But when Jess returns from her Christmas holiday, she finds Alex has started seeing Emma, who lives on the floor above them. Now Jess faces a year of bumping into the man of her dreams – and, apparently, the woman of his. Jess is determined to move on and spend the year falling in love with London, not Alex – but what if her heart has other ideas?
Thank you to Netgalley for letting review this book. Before I start my review if you read One Day in December or The Flatshare this is a great book for you as it is the perfect mix of the two! Now time for my review!
This was the first winter read of the year and I really enjoyed it as it wasn’t fully set around the festive period but over months instead which was a great way to progress the story and not drag it out too long, I think thats why I read it so quick!
I enjoyed the different characters that live in the house: Jess and Alex who have both left well paid jobs in search of doing something different and following their dreams!, Becky who owns the house after it being left to her from her grandparents and is able to charge super cheap rent for the posh side of London (P.S I need to find a friend like Becky!), Emma who doesn’t pay attention of the no relationship rule between the other housemates and has a casual fling with Alex and then there’s the chef who name has suddenly gone out of my head!
I liked reading about the walks round London Alex and Jess did together, but I felt like I knew what was going to happen at the end of the story and then all of a sudden there was a leap forward a year so it was quite a lot of build up and then felt quite rushed.
However there was a best quote for me, where Jess is talking about her new boss. “He doesn’t Just have a plum in his mouth, I reckon he’s got several fruit trees”
The book is out now and here is the link to go buy it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/We-Met-December-Rosie-Curtis-ebook/dp/B07NPBYQX4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1K39RRL91DMT&keywords=we+met+in+december&qid=1572689702&sprefix=we+met+in+%2Caps%2C-1&sr=8-1 It’s currently 99p for the ebook, so what a bargain!
