Four Letter Feelings by Lasairiona E. McMaster

Synopsis:

Jeremy Lewis has just returned from a year in Europe, ready to start college in Alabama and pursue his dream career in the National Hockey League. Life is looking pretty darn peachy.

But when his parents are brutally murdered in a mass shooting, merely surviving each day feels like an achievement. How can he get through college and keep his budding career on track when all he wants to do is drink and squander his parent’s fortune? Can he convince Chelsea he’s a changed man when he seems so intent on his own destruction?

My Review:

I’ve finally managed to write down my thoughts a whole week after reading it! It was really hard to write my review straight away because I wanted to write all the spoilers and my every single thought! So I’ve deiced to only choose a handful.

I read the last 100+ pages whilst I was on the plane, so I got to the most saddest part whilst I was in the air. As I was wearing my mask, (such a 2020 sentence)!
No one saw me gasp and intense shock into this book.

When I read Intimate Strangers I didn’t like the sound of Jeremy and wasn’t sure if I would enjoy reading a whole book about him, but I was so wrong I liked this one more! I knew for IS, it wasn't going to be a normal romance,  it this one was more of a friendship between Jeremy & AJ and also Jeremy & Chelsea.

I loved reading about how Jeremy and AJ met, how they became room mates and found it sound so cute that they went to each others families at Christmas time.

I knew Jeremy’s parents were going to be victims at a mass shooting but I still wasn’t prepared when I read the scenes leading up to it. I know it’s a book, but I still felt such sadness for Jeremy and how he dealt with the grief was so real!

I can imagine this book being a movie, and I would defo watch it. I think this is a book everyone should read and come talk to me about it after to see if you like Jeremy or not, if  you think him and Chelsea should be couple!

My Review:

I finished this book in a day and made me wonder why I haven’t read more books by both authors (I’ve only read 2 by Laura). This book is the kind of one to be described a perfect beach read - it’s a light, flirty and so damn addictive enemies to lovers book.

I loved the budding relationship between Katy and Felix as they go on their road trip to find a teaching job. I was laughing tat the pranks they was pulling on each other so they had one up on the interview. The bit I really giggled at was went the accidentally stumbled across a swingers festival and then was being interviewed the next day but one of the attendees.

Even though Katy’s husband and her sister was having an affair, I still wished she had found out differently - I think I gasped at the part when she found out that someone else already knew (can’t give the spoiler away!)

Anyway, I’m off to go add Andie’s and Laura’s books to my ever growing to buy list!
