My Review:

This was my first  Christmas read during winter 2020 and it was a great way to start. I've only read a few of Helen's books so I knew I was going to be in for a treat reading this one - and I wasn't let down. This was my first 5star read since September!!

When I read the description about the book, I liked how it wasn't the standard job roles for either characters.I liked that it was different in this kind of genre as in most books I read, Lucy would of been the Waffle Shack owner and Daniel would be the blacksmith.

I loved reading this book as it was such a perfect Christmas read as it was a such a cute, light fluffy read. And that describing the book and the waffles mentioned.

All the talk about waffles: flavours, shapes and toppings. The ones that sounded particularly yummy was the festive ones - gingerbread one sounded right up my street!

I could talk about waffles forever, but there is actually a darker part to this story and its through Daniel when he talks about his troubled past when he left Heritage Cove for a long time! FYI, trigger warnings for this book is: abusive dad, alcohol, drunk driving and death by a drunk driver.

I enjoyed how Lucy brought Daniel the past out of him slowly and not rushed it out like most do. I'm also not normally a fan of a slowburn romance but I found this the perfect pace and the only kiss happened near enough at the end and then the last few chapters was the characters starting the relationship!

I think this is one of the perfect Christmas books this year to read r to even gift to a fellow reader. so here is the link to buy it on amazon!
